Some people just know how to \u201cdo surgery\u201d.\u00a0 They are preprogramed in such a way that they can quip with the nurses and receptionists so that they become the favorite patient of the week.\u00a0 She\u2019s had much experience in this area and has honed her skills to a fine point.\u00a0 True she was running on adrenaline from about four in the morning until the moment I settled her into her recliner with her slippers and her house coat on but just the same she came through with flying colors.\u00a0 My sister and I got to rise at the crack of dawn, split the responsibility directly down the middle, share a couple of hours over latte catching up and carry on with the rest of the day.<\/p>\n<p>The rest of the day spiraled out of control when the message my computer spit at me said \u201cyour mailbox is full\u201d. Can\u2019t be. Something is wrong. Call the help desk\u2026.right.\u00a0 IM a favorite tech\u2026.no answer.\u00a0 Make your tech savvy friend sit next to you at your desk to confirm you\u2019re not crazy\u2026I\u2019m not crazy.\u00a0 God love her she gets her \u201cit\u2019s ok honey\u201d voice on. Tomorrow\u2019s another day, this is just cars.<\/p>\n<p>Grocery shopping.\u00a0 How the hell does a family of one spend 80.00 on groceries?\u00a0 What did I buy?\u00a0 A rotisserie chicken, oh and yogurt was on sale 10\/10.00, and oh yeah frozen dinners were on sale 4\/10.00 and oh yeah and oh yeah and oh yeah to the tune of 80.00.\u00a0 Aghhhh, never go grocery shopping after work when you are hungry.\u00a0 I know like I know that rule.<\/p>\n<p>Voice mail comes in while I was doing my grocery store shuffle from my best friend Sandra.\u00a0 She closed on her new house today.\u00a0 Jingle those keys baby!\u00a0 She is so happy to be moving along from her near \u201cwhatever\u201d in January that her universe just keeps on sending her exactly what she needs to prevent her from winding up with another \u201cWhiteface moment\u201d.\u00a0 Thank you universe, I need that girl to stick around for a very long time or at least as long as me.\u00a0 She knows like she knows and I am eternally grateful that Whiteface didn\u2019t win.<\/p>\n<p>All day long (actually all month long) I\u2019ve had another friend on my mind.\u00a0 She\u2019s got a \u201csituation\u201d.\u00a0 It\u2019s a neighborhood dispute that went somewhere\u2026wrong\u2026crazy.\u00a0 And this is the day that is going to decide whether the crazies win or she does.\u00a0 You don\u2019t need the details, it\u2019s too surreal to discuss, suffice to say there is a courtroom involved and a lot of work leading up to this moment in time.\u00a0 She worked her ass off, she remembered exactly who she was and wore it like a medal. She sent all the right energy to all the right places and the verdict is\u2026\u2026.DISMISSED.\u00a0\u00a0 I could not be more proud of her and her strength and integrity.\u00a0 That one word completed my day with the roller coaster coming to the end of its ride.<\/p>\n<p>Tomorrow, who the hell knows?\u00a0 See you when I get there.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My mother had cataract surgery this morning and true to form she was amazing.
