{"id":66,"date":"2009-11-29T02:01:43","date_gmt":"2009-11-29T09:01:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.2soar.info\/word\/?p=66"},"modified":"2009-11-29T02:01:43","modified_gmt":"2009-11-29T09:01:43","slug":"summer-sisters","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ordinarylegacy.com\/word\/2009\/11\/29\/summer-sisters\/","title":{"rendered":"Summer Sisters"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 10pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri; font-size: small;\">There once were two women, through whatever twist of adversity, found themselves sitting hip to hip on someone\u2019s deck stairs with a glass of wine in their hands.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>You might think that no good can come of this but to the contrary, thirty odd years later, only good came of it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 10pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">We are the best of friends. I know this because we can talk for hours after not seeing each other for months or we can sit in silence for hours without any discomfort.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>We garden. <span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0<\/span>We read.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>We have progressed from Rhine wine in the box to Kendall Jackson Chardonnay and Santa Margarita Pinot Grigio.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>It took me longer to get there and she christened me the Peter Pan of wine lovers.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>We have been through divorces, hers first then mine, ectopic pregnancies, the deaths of our fathers, an overbearing father in law, dogs, her children\u2019s heartbreaks and triumphs , pounds gained and lost.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>Aspirations and do-overs.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 10pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri; font-size: small;\">She is the smartest woman I know.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>She is a Michelle Pfeiffer to my Bette Midler.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>She is mostly confident and sometimes terrified, she has a \u201cbusiness\u201d voice, that I have learned to use on occasion, that will stop you as if your own mother were speaking.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>She is the consummate mother to her, now grown, children and fully expects to be the cool Gramma one day.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 10pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri; font-size: small;\">She has helped me through the very toughest time in my life with the simple words; don\u2019t worry Honey I got this.
