{"id":522,"date":"2012-02-16T17:48:40","date_gmt":"2012-02-16T22:48:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ordinarylegacy.com\/word\/?p=522"},"modified":"2012-02-16T17:48:40","modified_gmt":"2012-02-16T22:48:40","slug":"life-of-rileys","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ordinarylegacy.com\/word\/2012\/02\/16\/life-of-rileys\/","title":{"rendered":"Life of Riley&#8217;s"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Just recently I had dinner with the Riley&#8217;s.\u00a0 We were getting together to record\u00a0their personal history.\u00a0 It&#8217;s the gift I gave them for their fiftieth anniversary.\u00a0 I want to tell (but more importantly I want to know) their &#8220;story&#8221;.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t want to record the facts of their life, everyone knows that, I want to record their &#8220;story&#8221;. The behind the scenes, I never knew, aren&#8217;t they amazing story.<\/p>\n<p>Although I aspire to make this part of my Ordinary Legacy work, I wouldn&#8217;t endeavor to\u00a0gift something like this\u00a0to people I know causually, we are dear friends and we have had dinner many times before.\u00a0 Our dinners usually include wine, laughter, wit and inuendo, and oh yes a fabulous meal.\u00a0 Whether Jan cooks or I do the meal becomes almost secondary to the excuse of sitting around telling stories.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Our dinners run about four hours long but feel\u00a0as\u00a0if they are over in minutes.\u00a0\u00a0There is rarely a lull in the conversation, there is always something new to talk about.
