Of course it came at the exact moment I was trying to figure out where to start my summer work:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ordinarylegacy.com\/word\/once-you-see-it\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-2945\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ordinarylegacy.com\/word\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/once-you-see-it.jpg\" alt=\"once you see it\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It was my intention to use my down time to launch the Elder Beauty Project instead I\u2019ve scraped it.\u00a0 As a project, I\u2019ve scrapped it as a project because the real project is and always has been Ordinary Legacy. Thank you David for reminding me of that and now I see it again.<\/p>\n<p>The fact that I\u2019m tired of talking about myself remains.\u00a0 While this has been the outcome of my summer work, the month long journey to get there has been amazing.\u00a0 After a somewhat delayed start, read procrastinated for weeks, I worked up my courage to send an email to the director of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mahwahtwp.org\/Cit-e-Access\/webpage.cfm?TID=64&amp;TPID=6803\">Mahwah Senior Center, Susanne Small<\/a>, telling her about what I do and how I\u2019d love to do it.\u00a0 She loved the idea, with enthusiasm and more generosity I was invited to the center to share my vision.\u00a0 I was also\u00a0invited to speak with several of the seniors about my vision.\u00a0\u00a0While they are a bit curious, I\u2019ll need to come back with a bit more for them.\u00a0 Suffice to say you\u2019ll be seeing more of this:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ordinarylegacy.com\/word\/sr-wood-carvers0011\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-2943 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ordinarylegacy.com\/word\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/sr-wood-carvers0011-400x287.jpg\" alt=\"sr wood carvers0011\" width=\"400\" height=\"287\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ordinarylegacy.com\/word\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/sr-wood-carvers0011-400x287.jpg 400w, https:\/\/www.ordinarylegacy.com\/word\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/sr-wood-carvers0011-1024x734.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.ordinarylegacy.com\/word\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/sr-wood-carvers0011-419x300.jpg 419w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Susanne has graciously offered to work with me to develop the questions most likely to yield the result I\u2019m looking for, she knows our seniors and what makes them open up.\u00a0 I\u2019ll be able to leave brochures for them to consider working with me sharing bits of the ordinary that make their lives distinct. \u00a0That got me investigating and developing a concept brochure.<\/p>\n<p>Which in turn led to <a href=\"http:\/\/bergencountycamera.com\/\">Bergen County Camera<\/a>, where collectively they know everything, to look for a new lens for my DSLR.\u00a0 I mean they know everything so showing them what I do now and how I want to tweak it took a bit more courage.\u00a0 They didn\u2019t flinch at my work, thank God. It always helps to lead with the fact that you understand full well that you are an accidental photographer\u2026 I have a new lens, which I like but the jury\u2019s still out on whether or not it will perform the magic I require.\u00a0 What?
