{"id":215,"date":"2011-11-27T09:31:03","date_gmt":"2011-11-27T14:31:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.2soar.info\/word\/?p=215"},"modified":"2011-11-27T09:31:03","modified_gmt":"2011-11-27T14:31:03","slug":"dinner-with-friends","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ordinarylegacy.com\/word\/2011\/11\/27\/dinner-with-friends\/","title":{"rendered":"Dinner with Friends"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ordinarylegacy.com\/word\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/DSCN0287.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-228\" title=\"DSCN0287\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ordinarylegacy.com\/word\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/DSCN0287-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ordinarylegacy.com\/word\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/DSCN0287-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.ordinarylegacy.com\/word\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/DSCN0287-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.ordinarylegacy.com\/word\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/DSCN0287-400x300.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>Is it too obvious to start a monthly post about food on Thanksgiving?\u00a0 Over the past few months I\u2019ve had the pleasure of having dinner with friends (on completely different occasions) and it occurred to me that each of these dinners had that legacy feel about them.\u00a0 But what was it?\u00a0 The food?\u00a0 The company?\u00a0 The feeling of dinners past?\u00a0 What?<\/p>\n<p>So it got me thinking (I know\u2026what doesn\u2019t get me thinking) why not explore dinner with friends as yet another form of Ordinary Legacy.\u00a0 Why not explore not only my experiences but yours?\u00a0 Tell me about your dinner with friends that had a legacy feel to it and we\u2019ll write it up and post it for all to share.<\/p>\n<p>As for Thanksgiving dinner, I cooked.\u00a0 I haven\u2019t cooked in a few years and it was bitter sweet.\u00a0 I decided to change up the menu to accommodate those who are no longer with us.\u00a0 It just seemed too hard to sit and enjoy someone\u2019s favorite foods when they are no longer with us to enjoy it too.<\/p>\n<p>So does switching up garlic mashed with scalloped potatoes, simply because you know you\u2019ll never make them as good as Honey, constitute breaking tradition or is it an accommodation of love and respect?\u00a0 Does it make it harder or easier to get through the meal?
