{"id":206,"date":"2011-10-02T16:55:41","date_gmt":"2011-10-02T20:55:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.2soar.info\/word\/?p=206"},"modified":"2011-10-02T16:55:41","modified_gmt":"2011-10-02T20:55:41","slug":"breast-cancer-awareness-month","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ordinarylegacy.com\/word\/2011\/10\/02\/breast-cancer-awareness-month\/","title":{"rendered":"Breast Cancer Awareness Month"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>October is breast cancer awareness month.\u00a0 You will know someone diagnosed with breast cancer, you will not know what to say.\u00a0 Perhaps we can help.\u00a0 With my dearest Summer Sister&#8217;s permission I post the following letter sent to her back in July when she was newly diagnosed.\u00a0 The most important thing to say is I love you, the number of times you say it can&#8217;t ever be enough&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p>My Dearest Summer Sister,<\/p>\n<p>I love you.\u00a0 Doesn\u2019t seem like enough but I know it is.\u00a0 I\u2019m here, albeit 400 miles away, and I can be there in a matter of hours.<\/p>\n<p>What life has in store for us?\u00a0 Those statistics of one in eight ring loud in my ears as I count the people I would die for, you among them.\u00a0 Thank God we live in the time that we do, where technology meets spirituality at the tipping point of living a long and happy life.\u00a0 I have faith in your power of life, I have faith in your spirit, I have faith even if you don\u2019t for a moment<br \/>\nor two.<\/p>\n<p>There is much work to be done now.\u00a0 All of us are included in that work; we of the praying and universe summoning, you of the healing and positivity; we of the caring about\u2026.you, you of the caring for\u2026yourself.\u00a0 It\u2019s that time in your life to concentrate on the power you have within you to heal and love and live.\u00a0 We can guide, we can pray, we can run and do the errands, we can<br \/>\nclean and cook and cajole but you, my dear, must do the healing.<\/p>\n<p>The options are endless, no wonder your mind is racing with questions and concerns.\u00a0 Find strength to hear all the options and know that you have people who can hear better than you at this moment in time.\u00a0 Rely on their clarity and understanding and counsel with them to your advantage.\u00a0 Blessed are the breast navigators of the world for they know like they know.<\/p>\n<p>Leave a part of you open to the spiritual and emotional options.\u00a0 Consider them as part of your healing and enlist all those that you can to help you maneuver that territory.\u00a0 I, for one, will be sending strength and love daily and praying God gives you everything you need to draw wisdom and health from this turn.<\/p>\n<p>Do not stay private with this for too long.\u00a0 I know you are a lone fighter sometimes and that can\u2019t work this time.\u00a0 Give us the word and many upon many will be sending you strength and love.\u00a0 The power of that energy can\u2019t be harnessed quickly enough.\u00a0 Let us do much of the spiritual work for you while you find your way to a healthy rest of your life.<\/p>\n<p>I believe that you will be well soon.\u00a0 I believe that you will go on to live a happy and wonderful life.\u00a0 I believe that you deserve the most happy of endings.<\/p>\n<p>I know like I know that life will never be the same but I believe that it can be better for you.\u00a0 You probably can\u2019t hear that now but I will hold the thought for you and continue to pray for your safe passage through this rough water.\u00a0 Isak Dinesen said, \u201cThe cure for everything is salt water: sweat, tears or the sea.\u201d\u00a0 I will bring you, this time, to the Cape.\u00a0 For all that we\u2019ve been through, for all that we are yet to go through, I remain your Summer Sister at the ready.<\/p>\n<p>All my love, slc<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>October is breast cancer awareness month.\u00a0 You will know someone diagnosed with breast cancer, you will not know what to say.\u00a0 Perhaps we can help.\u00a0 With my dearest Summer Sister&#8217;s permission I post the following letter sent to her back &hellip;
