Enough said.\u00a0 But the thing is, in this tiny little part of the business I\u2019m responsible for they have to get approvals from\u2026.me.\u00a0 These are grown men mind you, not children so hold that thought.<\/p>\n<p>I was taught by the best and thankfully he didn\u2019t spare any of the gory details.\u00a0 Here are some of the more common translations I use to quell the boy inside the man when they try to get over on me.\u00a0 If it sounds a little (or maybe a lot) like your mother you\u2019re right on target.<\/p>\n<table border=\"0\" cellspacing=\"0\" cellpadding=\"0\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"297\">What I say\u2026<\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"341\">What I mean\u2026<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"297\">Help me understand.<\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"341\">WTF<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"297\">What am I missing?<\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"341\">Did you really think that would work?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"297\">Once upon a time\u2026<\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"341\">Oh yeah, let\u2019s hear this story.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"297\">Sooooo, let me see if I have this right,<\/p>\n<p>You want\u2026.<\/p>\n<p>You did\u2026.<\/p>\n<p>You said\u2026<\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"341\">And now you want me to\u2026<\/p>\n<p>WHAT?<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019d make a shitty teenager; even they wouldn\u2019t try that logic.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"297\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"341\">&nbsp;<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>You see how it would be impossible for me to preserve my karmic equity if I said what I really mean right?\u00a0 I sometimes run into trouble when someone really pushes my buttons as was the case just recently.\u00a0 Thank God my boss loves a good rant because I was on fire.\u00a0 After I was done getting it all out of my system I thought well <b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">I\u2019LL TEACH HIM A LESSON<\/span><\/b> in my best na na nanana voice.\u00a0 And I set about crafting an email that would cut like a knife.\u00a0 About half way through I thought better of it. Kind of.\u00a0 I know this guy\u2019s got a story and he\u2019s up against it and on and on and on. But he personifies passive aggressive behavior and has a condescending tone.\u00a0 I thought maybe I should <i>teach him a lesson <\/i>in my best walk a mile in his shoes tone.
